Performs work of a moderately technical nature utilizing public relations skills, knowledge and abilities normally acquired prior to assuming the position. The employee is responsible for the inspection or investigation and enforcement of health, safety, nuisance-related and non-construction codes and ordinances, such as those addressing tall weeds and grass, derelict vehicles, as well as other applicable Federal, State or local ordinances, regulations or codes.

Under the supervision of the City Manager, the City Attorney provides legal assistance on matters pertaining to City functions and activities; and acts as the City’s legal representative. The City Attorney administers and manages the activities, personnel and fiscal affairs of the City Department of Law. Department: Police Department
This employee is responsible for the receiving of calls for service from the public by telephone or personal contact regarding emergency and non-emergency situations, complaints and animal control problems. Records all pertinent information and the dispatching of Police patrol forces to calls for service through radio operations. Employees of this class are under the direct supervision of a Division Commander and the general supervision of a Shift Commander. Employee may be responsible for the on-the-job training of new personnel.
This is general duty police work in enforcing laws and ordinances. This employee is responsible for the protection of life and property; prevention, detection, and investigation of crime and maintaining law and order. Work involves an element of danger and may be performed either in plain clothes or in uniform. The Patrol Officer is engaged in constant and varied contact with the public which requires the exercise of individual initiative. Work in this classification is skilled in nature, with Operator performing a variety of complex tasks. Most of the work is semi-routine, following established policies and procedures; however, a large portion requires initiative and independent judgment concerning techniques and methods by which tasks are to be performed. Equipment operation includes, but is not limited to, dump trucks, backhoe-loaders, tractors with brush hog, flail-type mowers, box blade, disc, and other gasoline and diesel-powered equipment rated at 40 hp or more.
