CLERK/RECEPTIONIST

Under the direction of the Assistant to the City Manager is responsible for the appearance primarily of the Welcome Center and assists visitors, providing information and offering guidance and directions to locations, events and attractions with the City and nearby, including businesses, schools, parks, events, attractions and other points of interest.  Will occasionally be required to assist and work with staff at the Community Center.

This position reports directly to the City Attorney. The Legal Secretary/Assistant is required to assist the City Attorney in providing legal services to the City of Del City.

Temporary/Seasonal - Pool Manager, Assistant Manager, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor

The Pool Manager/Assistant Pool Manager/Head Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructor is responsible for guarding their area of responsibility, responding to any level of incident around the entire facility, enforcing the Aquatic Center rules fairly and politely, being responsive to all customer requests, ensuring customer safety, and other tasks assigned by the Recreation Supervisor.

911 Dispatcher

This employee is responsible for the receiving of calls for service from the public by telephone or personal contact regarding emergency and non-emergency situations, complaints and animal control problems.  Records all pertinent information and the dispatching of Police patrol forces to calls for service through radio operations.  Employees of this class are under the direct supervision of a Division Commander and the general supervision of a Shift Commander.  Employee may be responsible for the on-the-job training of new personnel.

Patrol Officer

Light Equipment Operator - Sewer Line Maintenance

This is a responsible skilled work of a mechanical nature in the maintenance of the sewer system.  Employees in this class have the responsibility for the operation and general maintenance of the collection system maintained by the City.  Work is performed with some latitude for the use of independent judgment in some work methods and procedures while carrying out the maintenance on the collection line.

Plant Operator - Waste Water Treatment Plant

This is work in the operation and maintenance of a Wastewater Treatment Facility.  Employees in this class have the responsibility for the operation and general maintenance of wastewater treatment machinery, equipment and facilities.  Employees maintain various logs and work records for an assigned shift.  Work is performed with some latitude for the use of independent judgment in the selection of work methods and procedures and is reviewed by observation and analysis of written reports and plant records.

SECRETARY

This is responsible work in providing secretarial services and performing related departmental functions.  Work requires the exercise of independent judgment, initiative and discretion based on a knowledge of administrative policies and procedures in performing daily activities. Work also involves routine contact with citizens, department heads, supervisors and other employees.  The employee works under minimal supervision in performing general office duties.

VEHICLE MECHANIC APPRENTICE

This is a skilled position in the repair, maintenance, and diagnoses of needed repairs of a wide variety of makes and models of vehicles and equipment.
